Tonya Barkley, LISW-CP, ADC

I am a seasoned therapist who brings both professional expertise and meaningful life experience to my work. This combination allows me to connect with people from all walks of life. My own journey has shaped a warm, empathetic approach that centers compassion, respect, and understanding.

I’ve worked with individuals across the lifespan—children, adolescents, and adults—supporting them through a wide range of challenges including trauma, ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. I’ve also worked extensively with adults in recovery, helping them rediscover motivation, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with their sense of purpose. My approach is grounded in meeting each person where they are and walking alongside them as they move toward healing.

My practice is fully virtual and based in South Carolina, with flexible evening and Saturday appointments to fit your schedule. While I don’t have a physical office at this time, I look forward to expanding in the future.

I take a trauma-informed and person-centered approach to care. I believe therapy should be a safe and inclusive space where every person feels seen, respected, and supported. I draw from evidence-based methods—including EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT skills—tailored to meet your unique needs and goals.

My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to hold space and to sit with you in the moments that may feel too heavy to hold alone. In that space, healing begins, and you can start to reconnect with your own strength and resilience.
